For a number of years I owned Scott Michael Rubens Design & Illustration LLC. I still do in fact. Here are an assortment of projects I worked on as a Freelance Designer over the past 15 years. Most work is for small, local businesses. If you know Portland, you know that it's roughly two degrees of separation up here, as opposed to the six degree norm. While I did and occasionally still do enjoy freelance and contract work, I found myself missing collaborative efforts in what can be a bit of a lonely silo. Companies I worked for include, but are not limited to tech non-profits, restaurants and bars, higher education, environmental/governmental non-profits, hemp lobbyists, various editorials, (Oxford commas), and the cannabis industry. At the bottom of the page are also some logos I've designed throughout the years. As with much of my work throughout this portfolio site, I have designed far more than you see here.
